What is evangelism?
God has called us to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the community of Wellington.
We do this by all and every means, using new and old ways to share the life changing truth of Jesus Christ.
The Alpha Course
We use Alpha as one of the main tools of evangelism at WBC. The church has been running this course successfully for almost 5 years and are shortly to be accredited by Alpha HTB London as an Alpha Church.
Already many people have come to faith through our Alpha courses. In 2005 we ran a Beacon Alpha Supper, at the local Oake Golf Course. Jonathan Aitken was the speaker, and over 200 people came to hear from him about the Alpha Course. Many churches in the Taunton and Wellington area signed up for this, and lots of courses began as a result.
But Alpha isn't the only method we use!
We are currently considering the implementation of an Essence course.
It is our goal to train every church member up in personal evangelism so that they can share the Gospel and their story of faith and lead people to faith in Jesus Christ. |
