Service times & type
On a regular basis - sunday by sunday, services of celebration & worship are held at WBC.
The Early Service: is a traditional short service
held twice a month at 9.15am running through to 9.45am. It is a popular service with many elderly folk and its content reflects a style suited to such. With traditional hymns, readings, prayers and short sermon, hymn books rather than projection, organ music rather than worship group, the service satisfies many folk do not want a service that is contemporary and upbeat.
Once a month - normally the second in the month, communion is shared.
The Early Service normally runs on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of a typical month, but you should check our rolling news at the home page to be certain, or phone our church office.
The 10.30am service: is our normal time of worship and praise and is when the majority of our church members and friends attend.
The worship is upbeat and contemporary with a mixture of instruments involved in the worship team - from keyboard, drums, guitars, wind instruments and singers. The worship is led by our Pastor and our Worship Leader.
Once a month - normally the 1st Sunday, communion is shared.
The service will often involve open times of worship and prayer where the congregation is involved and occasionally there are puppet shows and drama, together with the use of video. The words of songs are projected onto a screen, and there is always lively, bible based and relevant preaching and teaching normally from our Pastor.
The children will exit the service fairly early on to go to their own groups of "Children's Ministry." Recently we have been experimenting with reversing this process whereby the children start out in their own groups first, joining the worship service towards the end.
